Even if you don't like his drumming you have to admire his taste in shoes.

I recently picked up an album featuring Akira and he is fast becoming one of my favorite drummers.

Nice chops...I don't know what it is, but his toms always sound like the heads need changing! They sound 'rubbery'. I've got two vids and that's what they sound like...

Jimbo has chops AND style! He's funny too... check out the MD FEST 2000 DVD.

Man, I didn't know he could rip it up on double kick though, nice fast triplet pattern!

I'd like to try his signature snare... but I do agree his toms sound like crap, kinda cheap... same with his K ride for some reason.

Jimbo is an amazing drummer. I particularly like his Independance video. It seems like every 10 seconds on it, there is a pattern worth working a week on.

His chops and feel are outstanding.

I have his signature snare in Beech, before they changed it to maple and it's one of my all time favourite drums... So versatile!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would say his toms sound bouncy or lively rather than rubbery. Personally, I think his sound kills! Different strokes I guess.....

Nice playing for sure. Cool how he keeps the hi-hat pulse going during some of the double bass patterns.
